Cerebras CEO Sees Home AI Assistants Arriving Soon
Andrew Feldman predicts personal AI appliances will run locally with cloud backup, handling tasks like scheduling and purchases within a secure perimeter.

Cerebras Systems co‑founder Andrew Feldman told the audience at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 that a personal AI appliance for every household is closer than many think. He pointed to the rapid progress of consumer‑grade agents such as Meta’s Muse and the $10 billion‑valued startup Instinct as evidence that AI is already finding a foothold with everyday users.
Feldman envisions a device that operates much like a smartphone: part of the computation stays on the device, while heavier workloads are offloaded to the cloud. The assistant would learn the user’s habits, maintain a strict security perimeter, and even execute transactions such as purchasing goods on the owner’s behalf.
Why it matters for GPU / AI infrastructure
Widespread adoption of on‑premise AI agents will drive demand for high‑performance, low‑latency inference hardware at the edge. Chipmakers that can deliver wafer‑scale compute with efficient power envelopes stand to benefit as the market shifts from centralized data‑center training to distributed, personal inference workloads.
Beyond hardware, Feldman emphasized that his role is to build the platform that lets other founders create novel consumer experiences. He currently relies on a suite of agents to manage his calendar and prepare meeting briefs, illustrating how infrastructure advances translate directly into productivity gains.
