Google’s Gemini 4 Argon arrives

After a period of quiet, Google has unveiled its newest flagship model, Gemini 4 Argon, positioning it as a competitor to the latest offerings from OpenAI and Anthropic.

The company says Argon delivers stronger reasoning, fewer repetitive outputs, and better handling of complex tasks such as code generation, cybersecurity analysis, and financial modeling.

Early internal uses include spotting vulnerabilities, cutting YouTube comment‑system compute needs in half, and refining physics simulations for Wing’s drone delivery platform.

Argon is being rolled out to Pro and Ultra tiers of the Gemini app, Search AI mode, and the Antigravity agentic platform, with introductory pricing of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.
