Scimplify Secures $25M to Diversify Critical Materials Supply with AI

Indian startup Scimplify raised a $25 million strategic round led by Hitachi Ventures to accelerate AI‑driven production of specialty chemicals and reduce reliance on Chinese suppliers for semiconductors, defense and energy sectors.

Scimplify AI platform accelerating critical materials production

Scimplify, a Bengaluru‑based startup, closed a $25 million all‑equity round led by Hitachi Ventures, with participation from strategic customers Henkel and Teknor Apex and existing investors. The deal values the company at roughly $250 million and brings total equity raised to $80 million.

The firm uses its proprietary AI platform, Scinode, to compress the typical 12‑18 month material development cycle down to as little as two months. Scinode deploys specialized agents for research, process design, and quality control, allowing the team to work backward from a customer’s specification and retain that context for future orders.

Production is coordinated across a network of more than 500 partner factories, 90 % of which are in India, with plans to add U.S. and Japanese sites within the next year. The U.S. market now contributes about 30 % of revenue, which has grown sixfold to an annualized run‑rate near $60 million.

Why it matters for GPU / AI infrastructure

Advanced semiconductors and high‑performance computing hardware depend on a steady supply of specialty chemicals and rare‑earth‑derived materials. By accelerating qualification of alternative sources, Scimplify helps reduce single‑point‑of‑failure risk for GPU manufacturers and data‑center operators building AI clusters.
